CRESTS OF MONTE PORE

A very long, almost flat ridge with a beautiful panorama will be the destination of this excursion. A ring route always in an open environment under the mountains overlooking the Giau pass, with a breathtaking view of all the main mountains of the Alto Agordino. Before setting off for a walk in the fresh snow, make sure you are equipped in the right way.

Here's what you need for snowshoeing in the mountains:

Clothing: The usual clothing items for ski-hiking should be used, trying to dress in multiple layers and always carrying a spare t-shirt in the backpack.

Footwear: On the feet  It is good to wear Boots / Pedules , more or less heavy depending on the commitment that the excursion requires. For short distances, even lighter boots can work as long as they are sufficiently waterproof.

Backpack: You shouldn't go on an excursion, even if it's an easy one, without checking that your backpack contains everything you need to face a winter day in the mountains. The backpack should preferably be equipped with the appropriate fastenings that allow it to be fastened at the waist and chest and be large enough to contain:

• anorak (when this is not used)
• spare shirt
• thermal flask for always hot drinks
• Leggings  (very useful accessory that prevents snow from entering the shoes)
• Poles Normal ski poles , slightly longer in size, can be used, but telescopic ones are preferable, with a large wheel because it sinks less into the snow, the length of which can be adjusted according to the amount of snow (when the snow is very dusty, the stick sinks deeper).
